Pandemic Preparedness with a Home Office Solution
Background
A Large Investment Bank, an innovator in global finance, serves the financial needs of corporations, governments and municipalities, institutional clients and high net worth individuals worldwide. In order to continue these services uninterrupted and at the level of excellence their customers have become accustomed to, this Bank developed an ‘off-site’ business continuation plan to support these services in the event of a catastrophe requiring a company-wide evacuation of offices.
Requirement
Home offices of key employees must be configured to duplicate the current work environment as closely as possible to ensure business continuation.
Solution
ETC is employed to work jointly with the Bank to deploy supporting equipment and configure the home offices of employees with remote IP access to the headquarters in the event of a company wide evacuation due to a disaster – such as the contraction of the Avian Bird Flu. ETC has been able to support this Bank in this effort by utilizing its’ nationwide technical support base. Through a coordinated effort, ETC has deployed equipment and configured offices in various ways.
This deployment and configuration has allowed the Investment Bank to implement a sound business continuation infrastructure in the event of any emergency impacting access to headquarters or branch offices.
